The new ABRSM Grade 6 syllabus is finally out and there’s now an important decision to make towards your Grade 6 exam. Our teachers have performed the 9 pieces from the exam book so that choosing your pieces becomes a fun experience.
We are going still further by providing free tutorial lessons to guide students towards their their ABRSM exam preparation.

ABRSM has included a total of 39 pieces in its newly-published 2023 & 2024 syllabus of which 21 remain from the former 2021 & 2022 syllabus. On the other hand, the Grade 6 piano exam book has entirely been updated bringing students 9 new exam pieces to discover.
From 1 January 2023, students can present pieces from the new 2023 & 2024 syllabus. Although the new syllabus expires on 31 December 2024, ABRSM will allow a year extension (named overlap period) for students to keep performing pieces from this syllabus until 31 December 2025.
The 2021 & 2022 syllabus expires on 31 December 2022. Regardless, students can keep presenting their choice of pieces from this syllabus up to 31 December 2023. This year extension is known as the overlap period.
Students wishing to progress past Grade 5 should take music theory seriously. It’s time to know ABRSM will not allow candidates to enter a Grade 6 practical exam without a pass in Grade 5 music theory. But don’t panic if you have left it behind!
